Here we begin to get closer to what actually makes things work—or not work. From design and digital development to data and decision-making. Many of these terms are used every day, but rarely explained. Here we make an effort to do just that—without making things more complicated than necessary.

Professional Terms D–F
Data-driven
decisions made based on data and insights rather than intuition. Used in everything from marketing to product development.
Design Thinking
a problem-solving method in which the user is at the center. Combines insights, idea generation, and testing.
Disruptive Innovation
When new solutions transform the market by challenging established players and business models.
E-commerce
the buying and selling of goods and services through digital channels.
Engagement
the user’s involvement and interaction with a service or content.
Ecosystem (økosystem)
A network of products, services, and organizations that are interconnected and create value for the user.
Funnel (Sales Funnel)
Describes the steps from awareness to action, for example, from a visit to a purchase.
Freemium
A business model in which a basic version is free, while advanced features cost money.
Frontend / Backend
the frontend is what the user sees and experiences. The backend consists of the systems and logic behind it.
